Hello All,
As fall greets us, we still find ourselves adjusting to change and the new normal that emerged over the last few months, which has highlighted the disparities that our older adult community has been fighting long before the pandemic began. With all of this change has come rapid innovation and prompted us to take a look at how we can continue to expand our reach even though we might not be there in person – just yet.
Whether you’ve been a longtime supporter, or you’re just joining us in the fight for elder justice, we’re excited to share more this month about the partnerships, programs, and work that has been done to deliver the companionship, engagement, and advocacy to those who have needed our voices the most.

Friendly Visiting Emergency Preparedness
Since COVID-19 began, we have seen our elder community – many of whom were already facing loneliness and social isolation, distanced even further from family, friends, and those who support them and advocate on their behalf.
In July we launched the Friendly Visiting Telephone Reassurance Program in Solano County – just one of the many ways we have continued to expand our reach. Through this program, we offer weekly phone calls, video chats, distanced visits, and connections to other community resources that older adults may not be able to access. On top of the pandemic precautions and struggles that COVID-19 still has us working to combat, our communities face new disasters like the wildfires that continue to burn. As Californians, we know the importance of emergency preparedness, especially for the older adults that we serve, and as such, this is a primary focus of the Friendly Visiting Program.
We’re proud to partner with Napa Solano Area Agency on Aging and say a huge thank you for providing us with emergency supply packs for our clients. Our team is honored to have your support in serving our senior community and helping to keep them safe.
