Training a New Generation of Advocates

Students want their internships to be meaningful experiences where they can develop important skills and positively impact the lives of those they serve. As a student pursuing a Master’s in Social Work (MSW), field education is critical, allowing you to take what you are learning in the classroom and applying it directly to patients in need.

With a mission to ignite the interest of emerging social workers in a career working with older adults, Empowered Aging has designed an MSW internship program that provides full training and hands-on experience advocating for older adults and adults with disabilities.

Over the years, our program has distinguished itself as a unique learning opportunity hailed for its professionalism, diversity, and ability to bring a new language and perspective to the elder care industry.

“During my time at Empowered Aging, I was able to learn about the work of an Ombudsman…but most importantly, the internship contributed to my professional and personal growth.”
