When it comes to navigating support services in Solano County, you don’t have to search far — some of the county’s most valuable senior resources are housed right alongside our own Ombudsman team.
Our Fairfield office, where our Solano County Ombudsmen work and reside, is located within the Elder Justice Center — home to the Napa/Solano Area Agency on Aging (AAAns). This shared space reflects exactly the kind of partnership we believe in: multiple agencies serving seniors under one roof, working together instead of in silos.
The Area Agency on Aging offers a wide-reaching directory of free and low-cost services for older and disabled adults across Solano County, including:
- Caregiving Support — respite care and services through the Redwood Caregiver Resource Center and the Alzheimer’s Association
- Case Management & Information — the Aging & Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) of Solano County, offering individualized help locating and connecting to social services
- Health Insurance Counseling — free, one-on-one guidance through Senior Advocacy Services’ HICAP program
- Meals & Nutrition — home-delivered and congregate meals through Meals on Wheels Solano and Innovative Health Solutions
- Fraud Prevention — resources to help older adults recognize scams and report financial elder abuse
- Transportation, Housing, Legal Assistance, Veteran Services, and more
The Agency also publishes a free Solano Resource Guide, available in English and Spanish, and can be reached through SolanoCares.org or the ADRC.
This close collaboration means that when someone contacts our Fairfield office, we’re not just able to advocate for their rights in long-term care — we’re steps away from a partner agency who can connect them to caregiving support, meals, transportation, and more. It’s a living example of what our Director means when she talks about helping hands becoming bridges.
